APPLICATION TO VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

To vote by absentee ballot in a National Election, a person must submit an Application to Vote by Absentee Ballot to the National Election Commissioner of the State in which the voter is registered within the time period specified by title 9 of the FSM Code for the particular type of absentee ballot (refer to the February 29, 2024 Special Election Timetable).
 

Types of Absentee Voting:

(1)  by Mail;
(2)  by voting at a Mobile Polling Place (only applicable within the FSM);
(3) by voting at a VAAPP (Vote At Another Polling Place) in another electon district in the same State (only applicable within the FSM);
(4)  by voting at a Special Polling Place (SPP) within or outside the FSM; or
        (i)  Guam
        (ii)  Honolulu, Hawaii
        (iii) Pohnpei, Micronesia

(5)  by voting at a Travel Polling Place (only applicable within the FSM).

 

Draw attention to the following:

(1) No person shall be permitted to complete or submit an Application to Vote by Absentee Ballot on behalf of another voter, with the exceptiion of absentee voters requesting to vote at a mobile polling place who are not physically able to complete and/or deliver the application themselves.

(2) Bulk (bundles or packages containing more than one ballot) delivery of absentee ballots shall not be counted.

(3) Absentee ballots and affidavits must be received by the national election commissioner of the State issuing the absentee ballot no later than the established closing hour of the Polls on Election Day.

Travel Polling Place
Open: January 30, 2024
Deadline: February 28, 2024
